Thank you to all of the Judges who attended the 2010 Summer Workshop at Mason High School!
Our summer workshop for 2010 was held at Mason High School . We had a great turnout of over 50 members, many of them brand new to judging. We started the day off with a skit on professionalism. We had fun with it and got lots of laughs but please remember the overall message…we need to present ourselves in a professional manner at all times while judging. Be tactful but informative when working with judges that may not be following correct protocol.
We would like to thank the coaches and teams from Mason , Michigan Center, and Rochester for helping to train our judges. We appreciate you giving up your Saturday to help us. We also want to thank the Mason moms for feeding us during the day. There was plenty of great food to eat and drink all day!
The safety classes spent most of the morning with the Rochester demo team going over the new stunts and skills that will be allowed this year and some of the things that were penalty issues last season. The panel classes went over the 3 rounds and how to score skills with the help of the Mason team.
After lunch the panel and safety classes practiced their judging skills on the 3 rounds with the help of the demo team from Michigan Center using the updated scoring sheets and the information from the new manual that will be out this fall. Everyone had a great day of learning and networking with other judges. We hope the information you gained will help you as you start out the new season this year.
